Fresh fish delivered straight to your door
Grilled Plaice with Gherkin & Shallot Mayonnaise
Serves 2
Ingredients:

2 plaice fillets
-
2 large gherkins - rinsed and chopped

1 shallot - finely sliced

125g mayonnaise

3 tbsp plain flour - seasoned with salt and pepper

2 tbsp salted capers
-
65g butter
-
½ a lemon
-
Handful of chopped parsley

Mixed Vegetables

Cooking Method:

Preheat the oven to 220°C
-
Put shallots, gherkin, mayonnaise, and a squeeze of lemon into a bowl and mix together

Press each side of the plaice fillets into the seasoned flour, then shake off any excess

Heat 15g of butter in a non-stick frying pan
-
Add fish skin-side up, and fry for 3 - 4 minutes until golden

Turn over and cook for a further 3 - 4 minutes until cooked and remove

Wipe out the pan and melt the remaining butter

Remove from heat and add the capers and parsley
-
Season and spoon over the fish
-
Serve with mixed vegetables
