Grilled Fish Fillets

Serves 2


  • 2 flatfish fillets (such as sole or plaice)

  • 1 garlic clove (crushed)

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp chilli powder

  • ¼ tsp turmeric

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander (finely chopped)

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

Cooking Method:

  1. Line a flameproof dish or grill tray with tinfoil. Rinse the fish and pat it dry, then place it on the tray

  2. Using a bowl, mix together the garlic, garam masala, chilli powder, turmeric, salt, oil, coriander, and lemon juice

  3. Using a pastry brush, baste fish fillets evenly all over with the mixture

  4. Preheat grill to very hot, then lower heat to medium

  5. Grill fillets for approx. 10 minutes, turning as necessary and basting occasionally until they are cooked right through

  6. Serve immediately with salad or new potatoes
